Local Online Community To Help
The Environment!
At LocalRunner we’re passionate about the environment. We want to make a difference. It may sound corny but we have a vision and we’re on a mission…
We see a way to help the planet and the community as a whole with a unique new approach.
Our vision is a local community portal where sharing resources benefits both the environment and local community members alike.
Today more than ever we need to consider our habits and the impact we have on the environment. Thanks to the Internet we can get online and find almost anything we want. The trouble is that if we don’t look locally first we’ll often, without thinking, be harming the environment. Many studies indicate that transportation is responsible for at least 20% of all greenhouse gas emissions and some studies indicate the figure is much higher.
Sourcing products locally is one of the easiest ways we can help the environment by eliminating the senseless and excessive movement of goods.
Truth is, most of what you require can be found locally. But until now it’s been difficult to actually find what you’re looking for at a local level. The World Wide Web has just been too big and often irrelevant for local use. That’s where our local online community portal can help. We provide an appropriate easy way to find the services and goods you require locally. But our vision is much more…
Recycle, Re-Use and the Local Community Benefits
An often-overlooked benefit of a local community marketplace or free local classifieds is that of recycling unwanted goods throughout the community. The old saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” holds true. Many of us have second hand goods, leftover building materials or other items we no longer want or need. The hassle and expense of advertising through newspapers is often unwarranted so the items are trashed and end up as landfill.
This serious waste of resources could be eliminated and at the same time other community members (perhaps less fortunate) can benefit, simply through listing unwanted items as free or nearly free. It’s a win-win all round. Both the community and the environment benefit.
Our free local marketplace makes it easy to list goods, find bargains and services locally.
Help us get the word out. List your unwanted goods and tell your friends!
